Chris Almy, LCSW

Chris graduated in 2023 from the University of Utah's Master of Social Work program and specializes in adult individual and relationship psychotherapist. He also has experience in leading group therapy and skills groups. His areas of emphasis are in trauma, relationships, and sexual health and wellness.

He has worked successfully with a wide array of clients, including those who present with: anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma, relationship problems, sexual performance and dysfunction issues, and paraphilic disorders. His therapeutic approach is eclectic and holistic, as he believes that incorporating all parts and aspects of a person and their life is imperative in successfully progressing in mental health treatment.

Some modalities that Chris includes in his treatment are CBT, DBT, IFS Therapy, MI, EFT, Psychodynamic Therapy, EMDR Therapy, Gottman Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Chris is a certified Level 2 Gottman therapist and holds certifications in DBT and Trauma-Focused CBT.

Chris is passionate about romantic relationship dynamics and sexual wellness and works to ensure that his clients receive excellent therapy. Chris also emphasizes safety and integrity in the therapy space and works to ensure that physical and emotional boundaries are respected. He wants people of all backgrounds to know that they are welcome, and has experience working with people in the LGBTQIA+ community, people in the Trans community, people identifying as polyamorous or nonmonogamous, and people who are neurodiverse.

Chris also understands the importance that religion and spirituality have for many people and works to incorporate those as necessary. A Utah native, Chris is generally familiar with Christian and LDS beliefs. In addition to this, Chris is particularly knowledgable in the areas of Paganism, Wicca, Animism, and Pantheism.
